So I wanted to get a Corsair 5000D Airflow with an Asus PRIME Z690-A ATX LGA1700 Motherboard. I am not a huge OC-Fanboy, but I want to get the maximum out of my system! Therefore I read a whole lot of reviews and also watched your vids to identify the best parts for me. ![]() You will find a similar dinky difference in ambient in-case temperature no matter how many fans you add.I am planning on finally upgrading my PC. When I test my system under the HEAVIEST of loads (70W idle zooming to 720W) by simultaneous CPU and GPU burn-in-type testing, the "ambient" in-case temperature rises from 30C to 34C when my room temperature is 20C (68F setting on the home thermostat). If you do the math you'll find that the two fans in their stock balanced configuration will change the in-case air completely in less than two seconds and, under simple configurations, the air being sucked into the case has less than one second to heat up before it's already exhausted out of the case (volume of case air vs Cubic Feet per Minute airflow of a balanced set of fans). I am not interested in RGB so I use fans strictly for temperature control. Of course - and this needs outright stating - if one is interested in RGB then the two nonRGB case fans the 5000D comes with are not sufficient load that sucker up! But that's ONLY because you want a light show - you will NOT be enhancing the cooling effect of the stock fans. I have an NH-D15 air cooler for my CPU and the 3 built-in fans of the GPU for GPU cooling. Using that ambient air to cool your CPU and GPU is up to the cooling methods you use to directly do that. The two case fans that come already installed and connected to a hub ready to be attached to a single "chassis" fan socket on the motherboard are all you need for proper in-case "ambient" temperature control. Note: I also have the two stock fans from the 5000D case that I will be taking out but I'm relatively new to PC building so could I somehow integrate it with the Arctic P12 PWM PST Fans? (currently 5 Artic P12 PWM PST Fans and 2 Stock Fans from 5000D airflow). I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on either increasing, decreasing or maintaining the number of fans to optimize PC performance? However, I was reading the manual for the 5000D Airflow and noticed that you can install up to 10 case fans (i.e. I bought the 5 Artic P12 PWM PST fans was thinking to put 3x120mm fans in the front, 1x120mm in the rear and, 1x120mm on the top. I read other reddit posts on the number of fans they used for their 5000D Airflow and some suggested buying 5 Arctic P12 PWM PST Fans. This is my current build, and my case is the 5000D Airflow.
